L’ORÉAL PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS LAUNCHES #HAIRPROSKNOWBEST CAMPAIGN IN SOLIDARITY AS SALONS REOPEN SAFELY AND TO CELEBRATE THE UNIQUE SKILLS OF ALL HAIRDRESSERS

68% (OVER TWO THIRDS) OF BRITISH ADULTS WHO GET THEIR HAIR DONE PROFESSIONALLY AGREE THAT HAVING THEIR HAIR DONE SUPPORTS THEIR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

With salons gearing up for reopening, L’Oréal Professional Products launch #HairProsKnowBest – a campaign to support the safe reopening of Hair Salons across the nation. The importance and love for in-salon hair experiences has always been high, but the pandemic has served to enhance just how important a visit to see your Stylist really is in supporting our wellbeing. A recent online survey revealed, *68% (over two thirds) of British adults who get their hair done professionally agree that having their hair done supports their mental health and wellbeing.

The hair salon has long been a destination that is much more than updating physical appearance, it is a space and professional service that can help impact how people feel. Research conducted by L’Oréal Professional Products revealed that despite the updated salon journey and the new safety measures salons have seamlessly put in place, the actual experience and level of enjoyment was typically not impacted, with **93% of women felt the same or better than usual after their salon appointment compared to their last salon visit pre-lockdown. Hairdressing is a profession that not only offers artistic creativity, but it is about the human connection and power of touch. Hairdressers can offer techniques that are only available in the hands of the professional. In fact, there was a *** +95% increase in people talking about self-care in relation to hair during Covid vs before Covid.

The #HairProsKnowBest campaign by L’Oréal Professional Products, including brands such as L’Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Redken and Matrix is designed to shine a light on the vital role that hair professional’s play in people’s physical and mental wellbeing. In collaboration with British Beauty Council, the #HairProsKnowBest campaign features colourful social media illustrations designed for salons and hairdressers to post and celebrate how they make clients look and feel good inside and out.

The campaign asks consumers to share their look once returning to the salon post-lockdown by using #HairProsKnowBest and tagging their stylist and salon to truly celebrate the way in which they support our wellbeing.
