Promotion and support from The British Red Cross and Hair & Beauty Charity

Star of This Morning, Bryony Blake, and Oscar-Nominated film and TV designer, Marc Pilcher, have signed up to Stand Together Glam Together 2021, an exclusive online hair and beauty fundraising event. It will raise money for The Coronavirus Appeal for The Red Cross, and Hair & Beauty Charity, who provide support to industry workers that have been unable to work.

The volunteer-led event will livestream hair and beauty tutorials from over 20 respected industry creatives on the event Instagram channel on 5th June 2021, to educate and empower supporters. 100% of all donations will go directly to the nominated charities. Last year, £1400 was raised to support NHS Charities Together and Scottish Care.

Sam Grocutt, President of Hair & Beauty Charity has said, “We are delighted to be involved with Stand Together Glam Together 2021. The COVID crisis has seen us become an essential lifeline to many in our industry – we saw an increase in 148% of requests for financial support last year and awarded an increase of 70% funds to beneficiaries, year on year. Now more than ever, the official industry charity is helping those who need it most”.

The British has been largely responsible for coordinating the COVID19 response across the UK, this has included delivering food parcels and prescriptions, welfare checks and calls to the lonely and vulnerable, packing and delivery of free school meals during school holidays and getting laptops to those students needing them, providing lateral flow tests to testing centres and most recently, assisting in the roll out of the vaccination programme. Whilst their funding avenues have been cut. Caroline Hudson, fundraiser for The British Red Cross has said, “It’s a tough time to ask for help. But our Red Cross charity shops have had to shut their doors, and most of our planned fundraising events are on pause or have had to be cancelled. For some, the burden of the pandemic’s impact has been building gradually and is now too heavy to manage alone. So that’s why we’re asking for support for our appeal”.
