Headmasters collaborates with RED Magazine

January 28, 2020

For the last 38 years Headmasters has been championing Confidence Boosting Hair on the high street and 2020 is no different. This year the salon group has taken it a step further with a brand new campaign in collaboration with RED Magazine.

They wanted to encourage an image that was less based on idealisation and more firmly planted in reality, using RED to find four inspirational women, Maude Hirst, Celia Pool, Meera Innes and Rivinder Bhogal, to front the Headmasters 2020 campaign ‘Real Women, Real Confidence, Real Hair’.

Maude Hirst (@maudehirst) is an actor turned mindfulness teacher (known for her leading role on the History channel’s VIKINGS), Maude Hirst is the founder of the bespoke mindfulness company EnergyRise: on a mission to find a unique path into mindfulness for everyone. Celia Pool (@dameforgood) is the co-founder of DAME and in the past year has launched the world’s first reusable tampon applicator to combat the massive plastic waste in the industry. DAME is built on the belief that women and the planet deserve better.

Meera Innes (@meerabel) is an Entrepreneurial Health Consultant, dedicated to improving health and wellbeing in corporate environments. Ravinder Bhogal (@cookinboots @jikonilondon) is a British chef, restaurateur & journalist. She rose to fame when she was named by Gordon Ramsay as his new Fanny Craddock, on The F Word.

Her debut book Cook in Boots (HarperCollins, 2009) won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for the UK’s Best First Cookbook. Ravinder has been named one of London’s 100 Tastemakers in Food & Drink, as part of the Evening Standard’s Progress 1000 list of London’s most influential people’s.

Working with these inspirational women Headmasters encouraged them to express themselves through their hair whilst enhancing the natural beauty in their hair. They chose beautiful balayage, micro-bobs and long maxi lengths that lend easily to waves or own-the-room blowouts. Hair is important, but Headmasters also wanted to focus the women behind the lens too.

RED Magazine was the ideal partner as their dedication to sharing real-life fashion, beauty and inspirational lifestyle features while advising and supporting their readership complimented these goals. These shared principals made RED the ideal fit as beautiful, confidence-boosting hair has always been at the heart of Headmasters.

Throughout 2020 Headmasters will support and promote the businesses of our campaign women both in the salon, with clients and within their businesses, through a series of bespoke promotions, partnerships, competitions and collaborations.

Headmasters Creative Director Andrew Barton says, “Confidence Boosting Hair has been our mantra at Headmasters long before it became fashionable. It is at the very core of what we do every day for every client.

This campaign was really special to us as it brought our mantra to life. Real is beautiful and we really believe this campaign showcases aspirational, entrepreneurial confident women in a really positive, relatable way. I truly believe confidence starts with great hair.”
