‘Cocktails and Conversations: Industry Advice from BBC’s The Apprentice’

In partnership with prestigious hair-care brand Olaplex, last week saw the hosting of ‘Cocktails and Conversations’ from curated salon supply company, SimplyHair. Held at Canterbury’s magnificent medieval gateway and historic city jail, The Pound, guests were greeted with customised cocktails and insight into the brands.

To celebrate creative talent within the hairdressing industry, the event was hosted by SimplyHair’s Managing Director and founder, Amy Filippaios, alongside her team. Attended by leading Kent based hair salons and VIP customers, the evening showcased the brand’s ethos and gave guests bursts of inspiration to utilise in their own businesses.

Simon Ashtari – Sales Manager of Olaplex and a former award-winning Salon Stylist – gave guests an inspiring talk on the esteemed range as well as an insight into their new 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo. The talk highlighted how Olaplex and SimplyHair natural hair extensions are the perfect synergy; the versatility of the products are amazing for maintaining the natural beauty and quality of hair.

Guests were then treated to a speech and Q&A session from Rochelle Anthony, owner of the Doll’s House Salon in Milton Keynes, and current contestant in the new series of BBC’s The Apprentice. Branding herself the ‘Kim Kardashian of the business world’, Rochelle delivered inspirational insight into her time in the famous boardroom as well as how she manages the day-to-day running of her own salon. 

Having used SimplyHair for multiple years now, Rochelle commented: “It’s been tough times recently for our industry, so it was nice to be invited along to this event to give my first ever public talk and give a little something back. The event was a huge success in celebrating some of the best talents within hair care, with attendees leaving feeling motivated and inspired to adapt the skills and advice into practice. Each salon was also presented with goodie bags packed full of SimplyHair products, treats and gifts from the sponsors.
