Take a horizontal section just below the occipital bone. Starting in the middle of the section elevate vertically out at a 45 degree angle and use your razor to remove length.

Step 3

Work to the left with vertical sections and direct back into the previously cut section, then repeat this on the right side.

The FRENCHIE 2
Step 4

Continue cutting by working up the back of the head in horizontal sections and continuing to elevate out vertical sections at a 45 degree angle.

The FRENCHIE 3
Step 5

Now take a horizontal section from the side then vertical and diagonal sections as from before, continuing the pattern from the back of the head.

The FRENCHIE 4
Step 6

Work around the perimeter with the razor to remove unwanted length.

The FRENCHIE 5
Step 7

Take a triangle section for the fringe and create a central parting and then take an additional triangular section at the centre as shown. Cut using your razor freehand to remove length to the brow bone. Now take diagonal sections from the left side of the fringe and over direct to the opposite side. Remove length at a 45 degree angle, mirror this on the opposite side.

To frame the face cut diagonally from the top of the fringe, take a triangular section just in front of the ear and pull this in front of the face. Cut at a 45 degree angle to connect the fringe and feather the length away with a razor.

Before you blow-dry add product, we used Nine Yards Go Large Volume Mousse. First blow-dry your fringe from side to side for this we used a small Denman paddle brush.

Step 11

The colour

To create the colour we started with a central parting, then on each side we took diagonal sections from the crown to the ear.

Step 12

We put 4 foils on each side

1 x babylight + 2 x chunky highlight + 1 x babylight, each section was diffused using a Denman DC06 Tail Comb. We used lighter plus Innoluxe and 6% painting an inch away from the root.

The FRENCHIE 15
Step 13

To foil the fringe we did 3 fine babylights. Take into consideration your clients follicular density to determine the size of your highlight.

The FRENCHIE 16
Step 14

Allow 20 minutes to develop and then gloss like a boss! We used equal parts of 5/0 5/97 6/0 with 1.9%, we applied to the root first then through to the mid length and end.

Step 15

Zone tone - once your bleach has developed we mixed up 15ml8 / 71 10ml 6/71 and 5ml 5/97 we allowed this to develop for 20 minutes and this created a beautiful beachy bronde.
