Despite the challenging climate, Wella Professionals has gone the extra mile to ensure its iconic competition will still go ahead, and that the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners of 2020 will be crowned.
For the first time, the Final will have a digital format. To prepare, competitors will take part in a digital briefing, hosted by Wella Guest Artist Judges, which will arm them with tips and advice for entering digitally.
Final looks can be created on a head block or on a model, and competitors will need to submit a selection of images, videos, a mood-board, and information on how they have created the look.
There are six categories for 2020, which are: Colour Artist, Colour Specialist, Editorial Look, Craft Artist, Men’s Hair and Style Master.
A total of 27 winners will be announced on October 21st via Wella’s Instagram @wellahairuki. Prizes include a photo shoot experience, Wella education, invitations to Wella events and trophies.
“Despite everything that 2020 has thrown at us, we were determined to find an alternative format for the TrendVision Award and celebrate the wealth of hairdressing talent and our industry has to offer. There’s been no shortage of incredible creative entries and we can’t wait to see the final winners,” said Allison Hargreaves, National Education Operations Manager UKI Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professional, Sassoon Professional, Kadus, OPI.
In true Wella style, competitors have been heavily supported throughout the competition with plenty of digital support, including ‘drop-in Zoom sessions’ and IGTV sessions on Instagram to cover the competitor brief in detail and address any queries.
What’s next?
The Gold winners from Colour Artist, Colour Specialist and Craft Artist will automatically go through to the International TrendVision Award and gain a place at the International Creative Retreat.
In addition, the winning looks from Editorial Look, Men’s Hair and Style Master categories will be entered into an online competition to win a place at the International Creative Retreat. The top five winners globally will go through.
