Over the last two years, the engineering teams at Dyson have been working with renowned hair stylists to develop a bespoke-designed hairdryer for the professional market. It has been developed and engineered to tackle everything you the stylist need from your hairdryer, be it in salon or backstage.
Fast, focused and balanced
The Dyson Supersonic professional edition is powered by the patented Dyson V9 digital motor and is fast and small enough to sit in the handle rather than the head, engineered for balance.
The new dryer also uses Dyson’s Air Multiplier technology. The volume of air drawn into the motor is amplified by three due to this technology, producing a high pressure, high velocity jet of air. This focused jet of air is angled at 20deg for controlled, precise drying and styling.
The V9 motor daws air in at a high velocity and with it contaminants associated with salon environments e.g. hair spray, dry dust, cotton fibres, catch on the filter. To help combat this, the filter has been re-engineered on the new model to have two layers of filtration. The outer layer is removable and washable which allows you to easily clean it.
Heat control
The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer professional edition has intelligent heat control to help ensure hair isn’t exposed to extreme heat, resulting in damage. A glass bead thermistor measures the temperature 20 times a second and transmits this data to the microprocessor, which intelligently controls the temperature of the air flow.
Professional features
The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer professional edition has three heat settings, three airflow setting and a cold shot. It also has a set of magnetic attachments, allowing stylists to achieve different styles. Each one has technology to help prevent its edges being too hot to touch.
