Introduced after lockdown, the Index celebrates hair and beauty professionals that champion and influence the industry through sharing their knowledge and engaging via social channels.
Unlike previous years, the awards are now only open to those who have an active clientele or column; nominations for brands, salons and barbershops will not be accepted, however both freelance and employed industry professionals who meet the criteria will be.
Based on wider industry feedback from previous awards, the NHBF has now refined the criteria. This year, the key principles judged by the external agency will be:
1. Engagement
2. Consistency of posting.
3. The quality of content.
4. Its relevance to the audience.
In attempt to dispel profiles that have clearly bought their followers, the Index will also measure the growth of following.
This year, the Index will analyse Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube. But note, you will not be penalised for not using all three platforms, it’s just how the analytics are measured.
Nominations for this year’s Index are now open and will close on 31st July 2023. The final list will be announced in November.
