Communications remain paramount at the FHA and over the past couple of weeks they have been delivering a series of virtual events from online steering committee meetings to Zoom coffee mornings.
The freelance industry’s trade association continues to keep its members informed of sponsored educational opportunities and is launching the FHA Q&A Surgery, which will cover a host of topics from business training to industry advice and anything else members would like to be advised upon as a collective.
The first FHA Surgery will discuss topics including a fresh look at colour correction, how to prioritise clients when returning to work and client communications regarding hair care advice during the lockdown.
The FHA is committed to ensuring that although self-employed hairdressers may work alone, they do not feel alone and with nearly 60% of the hairdressing industry said to currently be freelance the FHA is as important a resource than ever.
Established over 25 years ago the FHA has built a complete support system for self-employed hairdressers and created a community of like-minded people.
FHA director, Sheila Abrahams knows it is a worrying time for freelance hairdressers and says: “Here at the FHA we are an association of professional and fully qualified freelance hairdressers who are in this together. It is important to us that members do not feel alone, especially in times of uncertainty. We are committed to supporting our members professionally and personally during the current crisis and beyond. As an association we offer knowledge sharing, give the sector a voice and lend an ear. We have a lot of fantastic trainers in our network who continue to provide expert advice and the virtual staff room where members chat, share experiences, solve problems and ask for help continues to be an important and valued resource for our wonderful community.”
