The 2024 Met Gala’s Most Viral Hair Trend

May 10, 2024

With 2024 billed as the year of the bob, it was actually super-long lengths that stole the runway at this year’s Met Gala. Whilst Rita Ora, Elle Fanning and Iris Law flew the flag for shorter styles, it was the flowing tresses that left everyone gasping at Monday night’s fashion fundraiser. From long and powerful to fluffy and ethereal, celebrities including Kendal Jenner, Demi Moore and Ariana Grande all donned super-long hairstyles.

Extensionist to the stars, Inanch Emir from Inanch London, commented: “It’s great to see long hair having a moment – with everyone talking about embracing the chop and going shorter, the Met Gala has brought back long hair with a vengeance! Voluminous and fluffy like Sarah Jessica Parker, or long and warrior-esque like Kendal Jenner, Rapunzel-like hair was the perfect hairstyle for the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion theme.”

“Clip in extensions are the perfect accessory to achieve this whimsical look,” Inanch continues. “It’s not an easy style to pull off, but it certainly looks sensational when you enter a room. A long, smooth ponytail – as seen on Ariana Grande – always looks powerful and luxurious (plus, add some shine spray for the ultimate luxe look). For a fuller, fluffier length – as seen on Madelyn Cline – Gold Class Naturally Wavy Extensions are the perfect addition to achieve long voluminous waves.

“While short hair looked stunning on Rita Ora, Tyla and Sydney Sweeney, it was great to see long hair taking centre stage with a happy ending!”
