Over 78% of respondents are confident about their business prospects for 2026 with less than 5% who aren’t confident and 17% who were neutral. This proves good news in a tough current climate, suggesting that the hair and beauty industry are proving resilient, upskilling in business strategy and understanding how to weather a tough economy.
The majority of respondents said that their biggest challenge is work-life balance (cited by 43.8%) which was well ahead of business issues like finding new clients (24.7%) and managing finances (13.3%).
What’s more, 36% of respondents have added new services to their existing offering, with the majority of beauty therapists (over 60%), trichologists (over 70%) and holistic therapists (over 60%) increasing their menus. Over 40% of hairdressers are also widening their services too.
Lastly, 50% of respondents said clients were ‘definitely’ becoming more conscious about sustainability and product ingredients, with 38% saying clients were ‘somewhat’ more conscious.
