Good Salon Guide offers mental health first aid training to hairdressers

January 15, 2021

With mental health now causing more concern than ever, Good Salon Guide is launching online Mental Health First Aid courses for hairdressers, barbers and beauty therapists across the UK to train staff to become recognised and registered workplace mental health first aiders.

GSG Managing Director Gareth Penn  explains: “These courses are easily accessible for everyone, cover a wide area of mental health issues and will empower participants to spot the signs of mental ill health and encourage them to break down barriers, listen in a non-judgemental way and, signpost to support for recovery.”

Those who complete the course will gain a Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) Adult Two Day Mental Health First Aider certificate and be registered with the MHFA as an approved Mental Health First Aider.

Good Salon Guide chose to work with MHFA as they want to help support hairdressers, barbers and therapists across the UK who play a vital role at the heart of local communities.

The first course dates are as follows: February 8, 10, 22 and 24. Each session will run from 7-9pm and the cost is £250 to Good Salon Guide members. For others it is £275. There is a payment plan available to members and registration can be done via the Good Salon Guide website: www.goodsalonguide.com/ 023 92 295000.    The Good Salon Guide loves Pro Hair and so every reader can get £10 off a Mental Heath First Aid training course. What’s more you can also split the payments over five months. Just quote Pro Hair when booking.’
