F.A.M.E. Team practise Presentation Skills with Simon Shaw

March 07, 2019

This year’s Fellowship F.A.M.E. Team will be enjoying plenty of stage time over the next 12 months, both at Fellowship events and other industry occasions, so a workshop to improve presentation skills made for the perfect third Team Day.

None other than Fellowship Chairman, Simon Shaw gave up his time to help them enhance their skills and confidence in presenting on stage.

Having the confidence to get on stage and showcase hair is one thing; talking through what you’re doing, explaining your ideas and inspirations, and keeping the audience engaged and inspired is another skill set entirely – and one that any good hairdresser needs to master.

For this workshop, Simon shared his immense insight experience in stage work to help the team feel more prepared, more confident and more comfortable presenting. Each member of the team came with a pre-prepared moodboard, which they were tasked with presenting to the rest of the group. With feedback from Simon, and their peers, the team then adapted their presentations and delivered them once again – this time with even more confidence and expertise.

“It was really helpful to learn how to add structure to our presentations,” says team member Alastair Jubbs of VAE Hair. “With Simon’s help, we learnt to deliver our looks and creativity with impact. Taking on board what I’ve learnt today, I’m now going to make sure that I plan, plan and plan some more prior to every presentation. I also want to make sure that I engage and excite the audience with everything I’m doing.”

This year’s F.A.M.E. Team includes Ashley Cockrell of Percy & Reed, Tania Faenza of Toni & Guy Canary Wharf, Lora Griffin of Simon Webster Hair and Alastair Jubbs of VAE Hair.
