Charming Chilli and Punchy Paprika
“Red hair is always in style for autumn, but this year I think we’ll see a shift towards more rich, vibrant shades. Think deep chilli, fiery paprika and bright cayenne pepper. In the salon, I’d be looking to create the colour using the OSMO IKON 6.43 (dark copper golden blonde) or the OSMO IKON 7.43 (medium copper golden blonde) for a deeper colour result. However, if you’re looking for a lighter ‘chilli’, then opt for the OSMO IKON 8.44 (light intense copper blonde). You can then finish at the backwash with the OSMO Colour Revive in Intense Copper or Radiant Red.”
Cayenne Colours
“Copper hair was a huge hit last year and I love to see it making a return – this also includes playing around with toners so even blondes can join the party! In the salon, I’d be using the OSMO IKON 6.43 (dark copper golden blonde) mixed with the OSMO IKON Violet Intensify for more of that violet copper finish. For at-home aftercare and styling, encourage your clients to use the OSMO Colour Revive Intense Copper to keep those spice-rack roots vibrant and splendid in ginger root, cayenne, chilli, and paprika hues.”
Say it with Cinnamon
“To add depth to plain locks, try cinnamon spiced highlights. All about subtle, natural-looking highlights that add a touch of brightness to your hair, this trend is a great way to add warmth and dimension without being too drastic. Whether your clients are naturally brunette or blonde, slices of cinnamon can add some spice this spooky season. In the salon, I’d get the muted look by applying the OSMO IKON 8.0 (light blonde) with the OSMO IKON 7.43 (medium copper golden blonde) to tone the hair.”
Salt & Pepper Blondes
“Blonde hair never goes out of style, but this season we’re seeing a spike in salt and pepper, cooler, ashy and grey tones: think shades of platinum, icy blonde and silver. To create this look in the salon, my priority would be neutralising any yellow tones by applying the OSMO IKON 9.1 (light ash blonde) mixed with my favourite OSMO IKON Pastel Metallics in Pearl. For at-home care, I recommend the new OSMO Colour Revive (£16.65) in the shade Vanilla Latte; it’s perfect for those peppery tones.”
The Cocoa Powder Craze
“Glossy Brunette hair will always reign strong, especially going into the colder months, but right now we’re seeing a particular lean towards the richer, darker shades: think Cloves, Cocoa Powder and Nutmeg. As these shades work particularly well for those with warm skin tones, I usually advise clients to try lowlights first. In the salon, I’d recreate this look using the OSMO IKON 8.3 (medium golden blonde) with the OSMO IKON 9.3 (light golden blonde) and 8.003 (light chocolate blonde) with the Colour Revive Vanilla Latte at the backwash.”
