Renowned and respected celebrity hairdresser and creative director of the HEADMASTERS salon group, Andrew Barton, launches his latest creative and education concept, Andrew Barton London Education – ABLE.
ABLE is a unique, contemporary training scholarship which offers further education institutions a comprehensive training programme to their existing portfolio of hairdressing education.
Created to meet the needs of full time students or apprentices the programme gives students an extended qualification linked to the hairdressing industry and empowers their employment opportunities with an ABLE certificate alongside the traditional NVQ or technical qualification. Through a series of educational tools including exclusive on line training and aspirational events the programme is a first in the industry.
Andrew said, “After decades of hearing the debate in the industry about raising standards I decided there was a need to develop and offer a link between industry and further education. ABLE will not only lift the experience and aspirations of students but also support lecturers in their pursuit to offer quality education and develop the skill set of the hairdressers of the future.
I’m delighted that the ABLE scholarship will launch first, in September, in my home town of Barnsley at the very college where I qualified as a trainee hairdresser 30 years ago.”
The ABLE scholarship, created and presented by Andrew, is set to roll out at various institutions nationwide over the next three years with a target to become a British product of excellence and exported internationally.
