All of the Best Hair Looks From the 2024 Oscars

March 15, 2024

From simple centre-partings and timeless sophistication to wearable waves and understated elegance, let’s recap the most talked-about hair looks at this year’s Oscars…

Anya Taylor Joy

‘My absolute favourite hair look of the night was Anya Taylor Joy. Her long lengths were beautifully simple but executed perfectly. The style was then amped up with a gorgeous, bejewelled headpiece, adding an extra bit of drama to the Vanity Fair After Party. To create this look, it’s crucial to ensure you don’t overload the hair with product. The Keratin Smooth Smoothing Serum and Brilliant Gloss Spray from Keune work brilliantly to give that beautiful, expensive-looking shine perfect for the red carpet.’ – Luke Benson, Celebrity Hairdresser and Keune Global Ambassador

Jamie Lee Curtis

‘I adored Jamie Lee Curtis’ short style this year, which managed to look edgy and effortless at the same time. The colour was stunning and suited her skin tone beautifully, and the height where the hair was blown back from the face gave the overall look a real glamour. My go-to products for this look would be the Nine Yards Silver Lining Shampoo and True Cool Silver Conditioner to create that beautiful clean colour.’ – Barrie Stephen, Nine Yards UK Brand Ambassador

Florence Pugh

‘My cool hair fave of the night goes to Florence Pugh. She was an absolute bombshell with a messy, sexy, chic look that completely sidestepped what we think of as traditional ‘red carpet hair’. It’s also a style that will work so well for clients this summer.’– Gina Conway, Gina Conway Salon & Spa Owner

Hailee Steinfeld

‘One of my favourite hair looks from this year’s Oscars was from Hailee Steinfeld, who wore her hair slicked-back in a beautiful low-slung braided bun paired with a deep side-parting. This was such an understated hairstyle that made the overall look chic, sophisticated and polished. When recreating this look, the choice of hair products are absolutely key as you want the hair to have as much lustre as possible with no frizz or flyaways. I would recommend mixing Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Leave-In Smoothing Gelee with Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture CC Cream and applying this through the ponytail before going in to create your braid – these products are not only perfect for clean braiding, but will also give the bun added hold and shine.’– Sabrina Dijkman, Alterna Ambassador

Heidi Klum

‘My favourite look from the Oscar’s was definitely Heidi Klum. Opting for something a little different, Heidi went for a wet-look, slicked-back style, working perfectly with her deep gold gown. She looked incredible! In order to recreate this style, prep is key. Ensure the hair is well conditioned and full of health wherever possible. Once prepped, you want to use a mousse in order to give that ‘wet’ look and feel. Distribute this throughout the hair, but don’t overdo it! I would then recommend using the Goldwell Creative Texture Crystal Turn, this will hold the look in place for the required duration whilst also aiding the wet-look feel!’ – Sophie Chandler, RUSH

Emma Stone

‘My favourite hair look came from the stunning Emma Stone. Showcasing her gorgeous new chocolate copper hair on this year’s red carpet, Emma’s slightly darker colour highlighted her best features and really brought out her eyes. This is such a beautiful, rich hair hue that gives the hair added shine, whilst still having those gorgeous red tones running throughout the shade for dimension and depth. The beauty of this shade is that it suits most skin tones and it’s also a perfect option for brunettes who may want to add a subtle touch of red to their hair for a fun, on-trend update.’ – Brian Leo McCallum, ROAR Hair & Beauty Salons Owner

Billie Eilish

‘I think the most memorable look from this year’s Oscars was definitely Billie Eilish’s dark chocolate bouncy blowout. Billie has had quite the hair evolution over the years – from her long-retired green roots to her more recent red transformation – and I’m all for her expressing herself through her hair, but I think this year’s red carpet look was one of her most grown-up styles to date! The volumised bouncy blowout framed her face gorgeously, and she looked absolutely stunning!’ – Safy B, Safy B’s Salon Owner
