Another month has gone by and it’s not only the weather that has made it truly remarkable.
A highlight this month was when we found out that one of our collection images had made the front cover of a consumer magazine. We had no idea it was going to be on the front cover and I’m thrilled that the Russell Eaton team’s work is getting such fabulous recognition. It’s their hard work and talent that keeps our salons as successful as they are.
Speaking of our amazing team members, this month has been a big month for team milestones. We have celebrated three team members being within the company for 10 years. Rebekah, Sarah and Jess all started as apprentices in our Barnsley salon and have worked hard to develop their skills and work their way up within the company. We are very proud of our high staff retention rate and we have celebrated this with these three team members this year.
I have also reached a milestone myself this month. I’m celebrating 20 years in the hairdressing industry and I can’t believe where the time has gone. I have loved every part of my career so far and looking back over the last 20 years and what I have achieved makes me excited to see what the next 20 years bring.
For now I’ve been enjoying our newly revamped spa area in our Leeds salon. The new look has gone down really well with clients and business has seen a boost as a result. Plans are also being set in motion for the future of the spa as we are aiming to introduce an express service, to provide a place for our clients to indulge in a quick pamper while on the go.
I’m certain that the future will continue providing amazing opportunities that I am currently enjoying being involved in. At the moment I have been busy with work for Wella and have just got back from teaching the Colour Club at KH Hair in Nottingham which is always an incredible experience. I love working with Wella, the heritage and expertise of the brand is unparalleled. July saw the closing of the Wella Studios in London, it had such fond memories for me as it’s been a key factor in my career, but they will soon be opening their brand new studio in October and I cannot wait to see the new studios and create new memories.
