Another month has passed and I can’t believe how fast 2016 is going. Saying that, I have managed to pack in a lot of exciting events and this has been another month that has been full to the brim with goings-on inside and outside of the salons!
This month I have worked in Dublin for Wella and with the Ireland Style Council on a prep day for a shoot we were working on. It was great to meet the team and share ideas on what should be a great collaboration and collection with some talented hairdressers. We will be bringing the shoot to life on stage at the Irish Wella TrendVision Award Final in August.
I have also been involved in a slot on Radio Sheffield where I host a phone-in on hair problems and trichology; this is great promotion for the salon and we have really gained a lot of new clients form this.
The rest of the Russell Eaton team have also been busy involved in events outside of the salon. Our Education Director, Ashleigh Maybank, worked on a cutting workshop in Manchester for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. Additionally Jesse Jackson, our Artistic Director in our Barnsley salon, is coming to the end of his year as part of the Generation Now team we are very proud of his achievements throughout the year.
It’s not only been a big month for myself and the team but for our actual salons too. After completing the spa refurbishment in our Leeds salon we are now paying attention to our Barnsley premises.
We have started work on improving the building with a new roof and windows. We are lucky to have such a beautiful building that dates back over one hundred years in the heart of Barnsley town centre. We restored the original shop front several years ago and this will complete the restoration fully, making our salon one of the most historically-restored buildings in the town. Just like the Russell Eaton brand, our salon is packed with heritage.
We can’t wait to show you how amazing the salon looks once it is fully restored. All will be revealed in the following few months!
